The Devil Judge [Bl Version] - Chapter 41: Village of Tranquility

Ga-On slowly blinked his eyes open, feeling groggy and disoriented.

A doctor in a white coat entered the room, glancing at a chart as they approached Ga-On\’s bedside. \”Ah, you\’re awake,\” the doctor said with a reassuring smile. \”How are you feeling?\”

Ga-On\’s voice was raspy as he responded, \”Confused. What happened?\”

The doctor settled into a chair next to Ga-On\’s bed. \”You fainted at the mansion, and the housekeeper called for immediate medical attention. We brought you here to run some tests.\”

Ga-On nodded slowly, still trying to make sense of it all. \”What about the housekeeper? Is she okay?\”

The doctor\’s expression turned serious. \”The housekeeper left the hospital as soon as she brought you here. I believe she had some personal matters to attend to.\”

Ga-On was puzzled by the housekeeper\’s abrupt departure, but before he could dwell on it, the doctor dropped a bombshell that left him utterly stunned.

\”There\’s one more thing, Mr. Ga-On,\” the doctor said, their tone careful. \”During the medical examination, we discovered something quite unexpected.\”

Ga-On furrowed his brow, unable to anticipate what could possibly be so shocking. \”Unexpected? What do you mean?\”

The doctor took a deep breath and then said, \”Mr. Ga-On, you\’re pregnant.\”

For a moment, Ga-On couldn\’t process the words. His mind raced, and he looked at the doctor with a mixture of shock, confusion, and disbelief.

\”Pregnant? That\’s… that\’s impossible. I\’m a man.\”

The doctor, experienced in delivering surprising news, maintained a composed demeanor. \”I understand it may seem impossible, but the medical tests don\’t lie. It\’s an extremely rare and

unusual condition, but it can happen. I\’m here to help you navigate this situation.\”

Ga-On\’s world had been turned upside down. He was overwhelmed by a whirlwind of emotions — shock, confusion, and a profound sense of disbelief.

The doctor studied Ga-On\’s reaction as she inquired, \”Do you know who the father is?\” Ga-On\’s mind raced, and for a fleeting moment, Yo-Han\’s image flashed before his eyes. However, he decided to keep that truth buried, holding it close as a secret.

With a heavy sigh, Ga-On simply shook his head, unable to utter the name that lingered unspoken.

Many years had passed since the tumultuous events that had shaken their lives. Elijah had become a constant presence in Yo-Han\’s life, a reminder of the enduring connection they all shared. She had often been the voice of reason, advocating for Yo-Han to seek out Ga-On, who, in her heart, she believed was still waiting for him.

One day, as they sat on the porch of the house Yo-Han had come to call home, Elijah broached the topic once again. \”You know, Yo-Han, you should go back to Ga-On. He must be waiting for you.\”

Yo-Han, staring into the distance, shook his head with a sigh. \”It\’s been so long, Elijah. Ga-On must have moved on. He might be married to Soo-Hyun now, living a happy life.\”

Elijah\’s determination remained unyielding. \”You won\’t know until you try, Yo-Han. He deserves to know you\’re still alive.\”

Resigned, Yo-Han began packing his belongings, preparing to embark on a journey he had long avoided. He was surprised to learn that Ga-On had resigned from his previous life, and his whereabouts were known to no one.

In his quest to find Ga-On, Yo-Han reached out to Soo-Hyun, hoping for some information. To his astonishment, she had moved on as well and was now married to someone else. She had no knowledge of Ga-On\’s whereabouts. It was as if he had vanished into thin air, leaving behind a void that no one could fill.

Concerned for Ga-On\’s well-being and desperate to reconnect with the one person who had been the center of his world, Yo-Han reached out to all his contacts, but no one could provide any information about Ga-On\’s location.

Months turned into a relentless search, and finally, a glimmer of hope emerged. One of Yo-Han\’s loyal subordinates reported a sighting of Ga-On in a remote village. With a renewed sense of determination and an anxious heart, Yo-Han set out in pursuit of the one person he had thought he might never see again.

*********

Yo-Han\’s journey led him to a picturesque village tucked away in the embrace of nature. The early morning air was crisp and chilly, and a gentle mist lingered over the village, lending an ethereal quality to the scene. The sun had just begun to cast its warm, golden glow upon the landscape.

The village was a testament to simplicity and natural beauty. Quaint houses, with their charming architecture and vibrant, blooming gardens, were nestled among lush greenery. Each house seemed to tell a story of generations past, their walls whispering secrets of lives well-lived.

As Yo-Han stepped out of his car, his breath materialized in the chilly air, forming delicate vapors that dissipated into the surroundings. The winter\’s chill added an enchanting layer to the already idyllic scene.

The old ladies, their faces glowing with the warmth of the bonfire in front of them, gossiped animatedly. Their breath also formed vapors as they spoke, creating an almost ethereal atmosphere around the bonfire.

The women looked up and spotted Yo-Han, their eyes widening in awe at the sight of this handsome stranger who had arrived in their peaceful haven. Their playful spirits were immediately awakened, and they couldn\’t resist the temptation to tease the newcomer.

\”Look at him, such a handsome young man!\” one of the old ladies exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

Another chimed in, \”Oh my, isn\’t he a catch! We should introduce him to our granddaughters.\”

The third one playfully added, \”Yes, yes! He\’s the perfect match for our dear girls!\”

Yo-Han, with a gracious smile, humored their teasing. \”Ladies, you are too kind,\” he replied, his voice carrying a hint of laughter.

Seizing the opportunity, he showed them a photograph of Ga-On and gently asked, \”Have any of you seen this person around?\”

The old ladies studied the photograph, their expressions growing thoughtful as they tried to recall any recent faces that matched the image. Their minds churned, and the village\’s tranquil air filled with anticipation as they collectively pondered the question.

One of them suddenly gasped, her eyes widening as recognition dawned. She pointed at the image and exclaimed, \”Oh, I know him! He lives just down the street, dear!\”

The other ladies, now equally intrigued, chimed in with words of praise and fondness for Ga-On. They recounted stories of his kindness and helpful nature, painting a heartwarming picture of the man they held in high regard.

Yo-Han\’s face broke into a smile as he listened to their praises. There was a sense of reassurance in knowing that Ga-On was not only remembered but cherished in this close-knit community.

Encouraged by the positive response, Yo-Han ventured to ask a more personal question. \”Is he married?\”

The old lady who had recognized Ga-On shook her head, offering a comforting smile. \”No, dear, he\’s not married. Our Ga-On is quite the catch.\”

Yo-Han couldn\’t help but feel a wave of relief wash over him at that response. He had feared that he might have missed his chance, but it seemed that Ga-On\’s heart remained unclaimed.

However, the old ladies were not done sharing their knowledge. Another one chimed in, \”But you know, I\’ve seen him with a beautiful girl quite often. She visits him, and I think they\’re very close. I\’ve even seen them with a little boy. It could be their child, you know.\”

Yo-Han\’s expression, once filled with hope, changed in an instant. His heart ached as he sat back in his car and looked at Ga-On\’s photograph, the truth now weighing heavily on his mind. It was a bittersweet revelation, one that stirred emotions of longing and heartbreak.
