The Devil Judge [Bl Version] - Chapter 27: Unspoken Desires

After taking the morning shower, Ga-On makes his way towards the kitchen, intending to prepare breakfast for everyone. However, as he closed his bedroom door behind him, he was startled by the unexpected presence of Elijah.

\”Ga-On, have you seen Yo-Han? He\’s not in his room.\”

Ga-On, feeling a rush of nervousness, tried to ease her concern with a forced laugh. \”Oh, I\’m sure Yo-Han must be outside or something. He\’s probably taking a morning stroll.\”

But just as he spoke, to his surprise, Yo-Han emerged from Ga-On\’s room, still dressed in his night robe.

The awkwardness of the situation hit Ga-On, and without missing a beat, he swiftly made his escape, darting toward the kitchen, leaving behind a bewildered Elijah and an amused Yo-Han.

\”What\’s with him?\” Yo-Han said as he watched Ga-On rushing towards the kitchen and then turned to Elijah, offering a polite \”Good morning\” before walking to his room.

Elijah, still taken aback by the surprising encounter earlier, struggled to find her voice, her silence echoing the unusual and humorous twist that had unfolded in their morning routine.

Around the dining table, despite the initial grumbling from both Elijah and Yo-Han about the food, hunger seemed to get the best of them. They began to eagerly scarf down their breakfast, their complaints fading away.

Yo-Han, his eyes fixed on Ga-On, slurped his food audibly, a mischievous glint in his eyes. Ga-On couldn\’t help but feel a bit nervous under Yo-Han\’s gaze.

But then, with a mouthful of food, Yo-Han managed to remark, \”You know, Ga-On, this is surprisingly tasty.\”

As the meal continued, Elijah, after some initial reluctance, admitted that the food was indeed tasty. Ga-On couldn\’t help but smile at her response. \”Thank you,\” he replied warmly before offering, \”Would you like some fruits?\”

Without waiting for her answer, Ga-On busied himself with cutting up some fresh fruits, preparing a plate to offer to Elijah.

However, as Ga-On\’s act of kindness unfolded, a sudden image of Isaac flashed in front of Yo-Han\’s mind. He fought to maintain his composure, quickly blinking back tears.

Later in the afternoon, Ga-On decided to introduce Elijah to Soo-hyun, hoping that she could fill a role as an older sister figure for her. They engaged in some conversation, but things took an unexpected turn when Soo-hyun, perhaps a bit too directly, asked Elijah if she had a copy of the Cancellation form she had found on Yo-Han\’s computer

Ga-On suggested that there might be more innocent reasons for why Yo-Han had canceled the donation.

However, Soo-hyun held firm to her suspicions but Elijah\’s attention seemed to shift more towards the dynamic between Ga-On and Soo-Hyun.

Soo-Hyun, quick to clarify the nature of their relationship, responded, \”We\’re just friends.\”

Elijah, with a playful smile, chimed in, \”Good to know, or else Ga-On might be accused of being a cheater.\”

Soo-Hyun, slightly puzzled by the remark, wanted to understand the implication further.

She inquired, \”What do you mean by that?\”

Her curiosity was piqued, and she looked to Ga-On for an explanation, eager to unravel the threads of their complex relationship.

Ga-On, attempting to downplay the comment, replied, \”It\’s nothing, really.\”

\”Then why did Yo-Han leave your room so early in the morning?\” Her words hung in the air, laden with implications.

Soo-Hyun\’s expression shifted to one of concern as she gazed at Ga-On. However, her attention was soon diverted when she noticed Yo-Han barging into the restaurant, his anger radiated off him like a storm.

He ripped Ga-On from his seat and pushed him against the wall with a fierce accusation, leaving the restaurant\’s patrons in stunned silence.

\”Yo-Han, please…\” Soo-Hyun was about to interrupt but Yo-Han\’s anger was unrelenting.

\”I won\’t let anyone mess with Elijah.\”

The scene outside the restaurant was charged with tension as Yo-Han wheeled Elijah toward his waiting car. Ga-On and Soo-Hyun followed them, their expressions filled with a mixture of pity and concern for the unfolding situation.

With dramatic intensity, Yo-Han turned to Ga-On, his voice low and commanding, as he ordered, \”Get in the car!\”

Ga-On hesitated for a moment, torn between the urgency of the situation and his own convictions. Soo-Hyun, recognizing his inner turmoil, tried to dissuade him, saying, \”Ga-On, there\’s no need to follow his instructions.\”

Reluctantly, Ga-On bid goodbye to Soo-Hyun and ultimately complied, taking his seat in the car beside Yo-Han leaving Soo-Hyun standing alone, her concern lingering in the air.

Back at the mansion, tensions were still running high. Elijah, overwhelmed by the events of the day, couldn\’t contain her frustration any longer. She muttered a bitter \”I hate you\” to Yo-Han and wheeled herself to her room in distress.

Ga-On, his heart heavy with the weight of the situation apologized for the events at the restaurant, but before he could say anything further, Yo-Han interjected, \”Soo-Hyun, a law graduate from Seoul National University, was raised in the vibrant city of Busan, South Korea, by her parents, Ji-soo and Min-jun Kim. Her father worked as a banker, while her mother dedicated her time to being a homemaker. Ga-On, I told you I wouldn\’t hesitate to remove threats.\”

Ga-On\’s eyes widened with realization, and without hesitation, he grabbed Yo-Han by the collar, \”Do not even think of hurting her.\”

Yo-Han, though typically composed, couldn\’t hide the flicker of jealousy that danced in his eyes. His voice took on a slightly sharper edge as he replied, \”Why are you so concerned about her?\”

Ga-On\’s face contorted with anger, his eyes locked onto Yo-Han\’s. \”Because unlike you, I care about people beyond my own desires.\”

With a sudden, unexpected move, Yo-Han reached out and cupped Ga-On\’s face, his touch gentle yet possessive. Ga-On\’s anger flared even brighter, and he tried to pull away, but Yo-Han\’s grip was firm. \”What are you doing?\”

Yo-Han\’s gaze bore into Ga-On\’s, his fingers tracing a delicate line along his cheek. \”Ga-On, you\’re mine, remember that.\”

Ga-On, still held by Yo-Han\’s possessive grip, couldn\’t help but bring up the memory of the scene he witnessed the previous night—the night when Yo-Han had kissed Sun-ah. His voice quivered with a mix of hurt and confusion.

\”Yo-Han,\” Ga-On began, his words carefully chosen, \”What are we, exactly and I can\’t understand where I stand in all of this.\”

Yo-Han\’s expression remained inscrutable, his fingers still gently caressing Ga-On\’s face as he replied in a tone that held a hint of mockery, \”Ga-On, what kind of relationship you want it to be?\”

As he glanced at Yo-Han, his eyes filled with a mix of emotions, he couldn\’t help but wonder why he had asked those questions in the first place. Was it possible that he was actually falling for Yo-Han, despite the complexities of their relationship?

Unable to find answers and overwhelmed by the swirling emotions, Ga-On started to walk away when Yo-Han stopped him and gently removed the cross necklace from around his own wrist. With a deliberate and meaningful action, he tied it around Ga-On\’s neck.

As he fastened the necklace, Yo-Han\’s voice was soft and sincere. \”This is my most prized possession,\” he admitted, his eyes locked onto Ga-On\’s.

In that moment, Ga-On could see the sincerity in Yo-Han\’s eyes. With the necklace now adorning Ga-On\’s neck, Yo-Han flashed back to the day when Isaac died in a fire, leaving him with the cherished Christ pendant as a final gift and a lasting symbol of their love.
