The Devil Judge [Bl Version] - Chapter 26: SRF Invitation Card

The clock on the wall read 9 PM as Ga-On anxiously waited for Yo-Han to return home.

Earlier, when the housekeeper had silently handed Yo-Han the mysterious invitation, Ga-On couldn\’t help but feel a pang of curiosity mixed with concern.

As the minutes turned into hours, Ga-On decided to give Yo-Han space, hoping that he would return and share the details of the invitation and his sudden departure. Ga-On couldn\’t bear to suspect him without understanding the context of what was happening.

Exhaustion finally overcame Ga-On, and he drifted off to sleep on the couch, still dressed in his work attire. The room remained hushed, save for the gentle ticking of the clock.

In the middle of the night, Ga-On opened his eyes to see Elijah, her face etched with worry.

\”Ga-On, Yo-Han is still not back. He\’s never stayed out like this before. I\’m really worried.\”

Ga-On prepared a warm cup of tea for Elijah, the soothing aroma filling the room as he handed it to her, \”You know, Elijah,\” Ga-On began, \”it\’s clear that you actually like Yo-Han. You even helped him with the Seok-hoon case.\”

Elijah took a sip of her tea and chuckled. \”I was mostly doing it for fun.\”

\”You two are more alike than you think,\” Ga-On remarked, still grinning.

Elijah revealed that when she was just twelve years old, she had hacked into Yo-Han\’s computer out of curiosity. In doing so, she stumbled upon a hidden folder that contained a form to cancel a donation—a revelation that sent shockwaves through Ga-On.

But that wasn\’t all she found in that secret folder. Her voice quivered as she continued, \”I also found a pregnancy test result, Ga-On. It said that my dad was pregnant. I am sure Yo-Han never wanted a child and that\’s why did not hesitate to kill my dad.\”

Ga-On was taken aback by the revelation, his mind racing to comprehend the weight of what Elijah had just disclosed. The implications were staggering. Yo-Han, on that fateful night of the fire, was on the verge of becoming a father.

As Elijah\’s tears began to flow, Ga-On\’s heart ached with empathy. He realized the immense pain that Yo-Han had carried with him on that tragic night. Without hesitation, Ga-On reached out and embraced Elijah, holding her close as she cried.

Elijah sobbed, her emotions pouring out, \”Yo-Han is the type who seems to destroy everything around him. I\’ve heard the stories of what he was like as a kid, and… just look at what happened to my dad.\”

Ga-On nodded in understanding, his gaze filled with empathy. \”I know, Elijah. The past has been cruel to all of us, especially to you. But we can\’t change what\’s happened. What we can do now is find Yo-Han but how do we even begin to find him? His mobile is switched off, and I don\’t know who to contact.\”

Elijah, however, seemed to have a plan in mind. She asked, \”Which car did he take with him?\”

Ga-On thought for a moment before replying, \”He took the black sedan.\”

Elijah\’s eyes lit up with determination as she requested, \”Bring me my laptop, Ga-On.\”

Ga-On rushed to retrieve her laptop, returning to her side. As he handed it to her, Elijah quickly got to work, her fingers dancing across the keyboard. Ga-On watched in awe as she navigated through her laptop, clearly skilled in technology.

\”What are you doing?\” Ga-On asked, curious and impressed.

\”I had a tracker installed in each of Yo-Han\’s cars a while back. It\’s just a precaution, you know, in case something like this ever happened.\”

With the housekeeper\’s assistance, Elijah\’s plan quickly bore fruit. She tracked Yo-Han\’s location through the GPS on her laptop.

\”That\’s incredible, Elijah. You\’ve got it all figured out. I\’ll take the other car and go get him. Don\’t worry, I\’ll bring him back safely.\”

On the other side,

As Yo-Han\’s consciousness slowly returned, he became acutely aware of his surroundings. He found himself in a dimly lit room, seated in an uncomfortable chair, with his wrists tightly handcuffed to its arms.

His initial confusion turned into a sense of dread as he tried to make sense of where he was and how he had ended up here. The room, he realized with a shiver, had been eerily modeled to resemble his own mansion, every detail meticulously recreated.

\”You\’re as pretty as ever.\” Sun-ah said and the memories from his childhood came rushing back. She was that young maid from his past. The same girl he had known when he was a child, who had been part of his life before everything had changed.

\”You were so mean to me back then, Yo-Han. I liked you so much, and you treated me like dirt.\”

Yo-Han, still bound to the chair, couldn\’t help but scoff at her words. \”Sun-ah, it wasn\’t truly me you liked. You misunderstood everything.\”

In a flashback to their shared past, Yo-Han\’s memories played out. He had caught Sun-ah red-handed, stealing valuables from the mansion. Concerned for her future, he had warned her against her actions, trying to steer her away from a dangerous path.

Sun-ah, however, had a different interpretation of Yo-Han\’s actions. She had been excited by his attention and saw it as a sign that he cared for her.

When items began to go missing from the house, she saw an opportunity to divert suspicion away from herself. Yo-Han overheard her blame him for the thefts, claiming that he had secretly been going out a lot recently.

He let it slide, hoping she would change her ways. But when she attempted to steal a precious cross necklace that had belonged to Isaac\’s mother, he decided to intervene decisively.

Back in the present,

Sun-ah argued, \”Even so, I liked you, Yo-Han. I like anything that sparkles and shines.\”

\”You\’ve always had a knack for finding beauty in the wrong places, Sun-ah. But what are you doing now? Playing the role of a maid while stealing from the SRF?\”

Sun-ah grabbed him by the neck and startes choking him and after some time released him.

Yo-Han smirked, \”Get to the point, Sun-ah. Why are you doing this?\”

Sun-ah, her demeanor strangely calm despite the bizarre circumstances, responded, \”I don\’t care about your games, Yo-Han, as long as you leave the SRF out of it.\”

\”You think threats are going to work on me? I have nothing left to protect, Sun-ah. There\’s nothing you can take from me.\”

Sun-ah\’s eyes bore into his with an intensity, \”Killing you would be too easy, Yo-Han. I want you to suffer. I want you to feel the way I felt all those years.\”

Sun-ah, driven by her audacious defiance, waltzes over to Yo-Han and kisses him while he remains stone-faced.

Before the tension could escalate further, the door swung open, and Ga-On walked into the room. His disappointed look spoke volumes as he addressed Yo-Han, \”Elijah is worrying about you, and you should head back home.\”

Sun-ah, undeterred by the interruption, released Yo-Han from her grip and whispered with a sinister smile, \”Oops, your eye candy is here. Hope he lives to the day I kill you with my own hands.\”

His voice, though laced with a threat, remained steady as he responded with a sly smile, \”Try to just touch him, and you\’ll quickly discover what will happen.\”

\”Let\’s go.\” Yo-Han grabbed Ga-On\’s hand and walked away as Sun-ah chillingly smiled as if she had been waiting for this moment.

Back at the mansion, Yo-Han and Ga-On\’s return was met with an atmosphere of disappointment and tension. As they entered the house, Ga-On\’s expression revealed his disappointment, and he walked off towards his room without a word.

Yo-Han, feeling the weight of the unresolved issues between them, attempted to follow Ga-On and address the situation, \”Ga-On, we need to talk,\” but before he could say more, Ga-On had already reached his room and firmly closed the door, leaving Yo-Han standing in the hallway.

Sighing in frustration and exhaustion, Yo-Han realized that Ga-On needed some space and time to process the events of the night.

In the solitude of his room, Ga-On lay on his back, staring up at the ceiling. His thoughts swirled, a tumultuous mix of emotions churning within him. The events of the night had left him feeling conflicted and burdened.

As he reflected on the complicated relationship he shared with Yo-Han, a pang of regret tugged at his heart. He couldn\’t help but wonder if he was merely another pawn in Yo-Han\’s intricate life, one of the many players in a game he couldn\’t fully understand.

Suddenly, a hidden door in Ga-On\’s room swung open, catching him off guard.

Before he could react, Yo-Han hugged him. His initial instinct was to push him away, to create some distance between them. But then, in the midst of their intense connection, a haunting realization that Yo-Han had been on the verge of becoming a father on the very day Isaac had tragically died.

In that moment, Ga-On couldn\’t bring himself to break the connection, for he knew that Yo-Han carried a heavy burden.
