As Ga-On retreated from the room, the tension in the air was palpable. Elijah, her voice quivering with a mix of anger and sorrow, cried out, \”Get out! Get out of here!\”

Ga-On took a step back, his hands raised in a placating gesture. \”I\’m sorry,\” he said softly, \”I didn\’t mean to intrude. I didn\’t know…\”

Elijah interrupted him, her tears flowing freely now. \”You don\’t know anything! You don\’t know what happened here!\”

Ga-On\’s empathy for the young girl grew as he saw her pain. \”I know it must be really hard for you,\” he said gently.

Elijah bristled at his comment. \”And I suppose stupid ones can\’t tell?\” she retorted.

Ga-On laughed heartily, trying to defuse the tension. \”Of course not! I meant cats, of course.\”

Elijah decided to share a bit of insight, saying, \”This cat is a stray that Yo-han brought home. He keeps bringing home strays, which is unlike him.\”

Curious, Ga-On asked, \”Why is that unlike him?\”

Elijah scoffed, her tone dripping with skepticism. \”You\’re stupid if you buy into that nonsense of Yo-han\’s public persona. He\’s not what he appears to be.\”

She went on to compare Yo-Han to the well-fed cat in the house, saying, \”He\’s like that well-fed cat that catches mice for fun. How do you think Yo-han became the owner of this house?\”

As Ga-On was about to make the call to Soo-Hyun, he felt a sudden presence behind him and turned to see Yo-Han walking into his room. Startled, Ga-On quickly ended the call, not wanting to discuss his investigation plans in front of Yo-Han.

Yo-Han regarded him with an amused expression, his arms crossed. \”Is there something you\’re trying to hide, Ga-On?\” he inquired, his tone laced with curiosity.

Ga-On, feeling a bit flustered, replied, \”I was just making a call, nothing important.\”
